Crochet shoes for doll


 


Crochet pattern using DK yarn and 4mm crochet hook. 

Great for using up bits of left over yarn. 


Stitches used dc (UK) sc (US), slipped stitch

Crochet shoes for an 18 inch doll

Make 10 chains

Round 1 = 1 dc in 3rd chain from hook. Work 2 more dc in same space. 1dc in each of next 6 chains, 4 dc in last chain,

Then working on opposite side of cast on chains, work 1 dc in each of next 6 chains, 3 dc in last chain (22 dc worked altogether)

Round 2 = 2 dc in each of next 3 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, 2 dc in each of next 4 dc, 1 dc in each of next 6 dc, 2 dc in each of next 3 dc (32 dc)

Round 3 = 1 dc in each dc

Rounds 4 – 6 (shape top)

1 dc in each of next 24 dc, [decrease 1 dc over next 2 dc] 8 times,

1 dc in each of next 16 dc, [decrease 1 dc over next 2 dc] 4 times

1 dc in each of next 16 dc, slip stitch over each of next 4 dc,

1 dc in each of next 15 dc, slip stitch in next dc.

Cut off yarn. Fasten off. Thread in loose ends.

Turn inside out. Sew flowers/bows/buttons on.

This doll's completely reversible top is easy to make but a little bit fiddly. However it is worth persevering with it as the end result is superb. Hand gel holder - great for clipping onto a hand-bag, back pack etc or make a smaller version to add to a key ring

 These little gel holders are great. They can be resized to make smaller ones for smaller bottles of gel.  The pattern below is for a 50/100ml bottle of hand gel.  Materials used. Cotton fabric for the front, the back and the lining. Some interfacing for the front and the lining. About 4 inches of cord/ribbon/tape for a loop and a key ring attachment.   This is an ideal project to use up scraps. It sews very quickly. Make a handful and gift to friends and family.  1. Download the pattern.  Link to the pattern is at the bottom of the page.  2. Cut the pieces. The front is cut on the fold (can be one long piece which is then folded.) DO NOT cut the opening at this stage. Cut straight across the bottom.  Iron some stabiliser on half the piece. (If your material is flimsy, stabilise all of it to give it more structure.)
