Sun hat for an 18-inch doll - American Girl, Our Generation type dolls

The hat is worked in continuous rounds to create a more even look. Place a marker at the end of each round, before beginning the next to ensure that a full round has been worked.
For this hat I have used DK yarns.
- With 4mm hook, ch5, ss to form a ring.
- Round 1 – Work 8dc in ring.
- Round 2 – *1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to end of round. (12 dc)
- Round 3 – As round 2. (18 dc)
- Round 4 –As round 2. (27 dc)
- Round 5 - *1dc in each of next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to end of round. (36 dc)
- Round 6 – Work 1dc in each dc (36 dc)
- Round 7 - *1dc in each of next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to end of round. (45 dc)
- Round 8 – Work 1dc in each dc. (45 dc)
- Round 9 - *1dc in each of next 4 dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to end of round. (54 dc)
- Rounds 10 to 18 – Work 1 dc in each dc for each round.
- Round 19 – (eyelet row) ch4 (counts as 1tr and 1ch), *miss 1dc, 1tr in next dc, 1ch, rep *from to end of round, ss in 3rd ch from beg of round.
- Round 20 – ch1, *2dc in ch space, 1dc in tr, rep from *to last ch space, 2dc and ss in ch1.
- Round 21 - *1dc in each of next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc, rep from * to end of round.
- Round 22 – Work 1dc in each dc to end of round.
- Change to 3.5mm hook and C work 1dc in each dc to end.
- Next round – 1dc in next dc, * 3ch, miss 1dc, 1dc in next dc. Rep from * to last dc, miss 1dc, 3ch, ss in 1st dc.
- Fasten off. Thread in loose ends.
- Thread in a piece of ribbon through eyelet row and tie into a bow.
